You can relax under a shady tree over looking Mkoma Bay, take a swim in the pool or walk on the quiet beach. Just off the mainland, there is spectacular snorkeling and diving off the reefs of Maziwe Island which are a virtual underwater paradise. Accommodation:
To give a feeling of being on safari, yet with a cool ocean breeze, the Lodge offers seven thatch covered tents nestled in a forest like environment. Each tent is equipped with a king size or two large single Zanzibari beds and en suite showers and bathrooms, writing desk and chair, fan, and mosquito net. The veranda provides views of the lush garden and a place to have a cool drink.
The newest accommodation, perfect for a family of three to six. Two spacious tents conjoined with a shared patio. En suite showers, toilets and ceiling fans.
For larger groups or families, the Lodge offers a spacious four-bedroom, three-bath Swahili style house with ocean views. The house has a vast open terrace, small fully equipped kitchen, and is the perfect place to relax after a day at the beach or pool. This facility is also available for workshops and retreats.
Activities:
Nearby Maziwe Island provides a great opportunity for spectacular snorkeling. For the avid diver, diving trips can be arranged through local dive masters.
Kayaks are available for exploring Mkoma Bay.
To visit Pangani and the surrounding area, we have five mountain bikes for guest use.
Take a tour of historical Pangani. Walking tours can be organized through the local tourism board or take a three-hour river cruise up the scenic Pangani River.

The Retreat, located in Northern Selous, is a twelve-suite exquisite hideaway that offers complete seclusion in the heart of remote bush lands. Accommodation:
The Retreat offers four different styles of accommodation. Twelve spaciously 100–220 m², more than six meter high tented suites under palm thatched roofs with expansive distance between each suite have been constructed in three independent units to correspond with the surrounding habitat, whilst guaranteeing privacy and romance.
The tents are protected by two layers - a strong mosquito net as an inner wall and heavy duty canvas on the outer side. If guests wish to be closer to nature, all tents can be fully opened to the sounds, breeze and full view of the environment.
Each suite has its own private outdoor deck with a stunning signature outdoor antique copper, brass or silver bathtub. Ethnic elements, bespoke furnishings, African antiques, natural materials and precious stones have been blended to create a unique sense of comfort and natural luxury using principles of Feng Shui and the Five Elements in materials and interior design.
Day Activities:
The Retreat is unique in that it allows guests to totally tailor make their stay by having a choice of two inclusive activities per day, from the following choices:
- Game drives – morning, afternoon or evening game drives with expert guides
- Escorted safari walks & hikes – morning or afternoon with rangers and specialist guides
- Escorted boat excursions on the Great Ruaha River - morning or afternoon
- Line fishing may be rewarded by bagging the likes of Tiger Fish and Catfish
